Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit. They allow the site to recognize your device and remember certain information about your visit. Beyond standard cookies, we may use similar technologies such as local storage—which allows the site to save larger amounts of data on your device—and tracking pixels, which are tiny invisible images used to monitor how you interact with specific content.

For a high-performance gaming platform, these tools are necessary. They ensure that when you navigate from the game lobby to your account settings, the system remembers who you are. Without these technologies, you would be required to re-authenticate every time you clicked a new link, making the experience fragmented and inefficient.

Types of Cookies We Use

We categorize the cookies used on our platform based on their purpose. Some are critical for the site to function, while others help us refine the user experience.

How We Use Cookies

The application of cookies on mytown88 is focused on security and utility. We use session cookies to keep you authenticated as you move through different sections of the platform, preventing constant login prompts. To maintain a fair environment, we utilize these tools for fraud detection and to identify the creation of multiple accounts from a single device.

Additionally, we use cookies to store your interface settings, such as the preferred currency display. We also analyze aggregate data to understand which games are most frequented, enabling us to improve the overall user flow and deliver relevant notifications about new platform features.

Third-Party Cookies

While we place our own cookies, certain tools on our site are provided by external partners. These include analytics providers who help us track traffic, advertising partners who manage promotional placements, and specialized security services that monitor for fraudulent activity and protect payments.

Because these cookies are managed by other entities, we do not have direct control over them. We encourage users to review the individual policies of our service providers to understand how they handle data and what options they provide for opting out of their tracking.

How to Manage or Disable Cookies

You have the right to control how cookies are used during your visit. This is primarily managed through your web browser's settings. Depending on your browser, the steps are generally as follows:

You may also use "Incognito" or "Private" browsing modes. In these modes, cookies are typically deleted once you close the browser window. However, please be aware that these modes do not stop the initial placement of cookies during your active session.

Cookie Consent & Your Choices

Your control over data tracking is primarily executed through the browser settings described above. Where a cookie notice is presented upon your arrival, you may interact with it to set your initial preferences. If you wish to change these choices later, you can clear your browser cache and cookies to reset the consent process.

Regarding your data rights, we respect the requirements provided by applicable laws in Malaysia. This includes general rights to request access to your data, request corrections to inaccurate information, or ask for the deletion of certain data. For more comprehensive details on our legal obligations, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may refine this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our technology or updates to legal requirements in Malaysia. When updates occur, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We recommend checking this section periodically to stay informed about how your data is handled.
